Last month, the exciting and new Minneapolis Event Center, Muse,  hosted the International Special Events Society (ISES) MSP chapter meeting. The meeting took place on the main floor of the three level venue, where four local non-profit speakers presented their stories. Guests indulged in delicious fall foods from CRAVE Catering, which included a pumpkin spice creme brûlée!

Representatives from Red Ribbon RideMake A Wish FoundationSoap Factory, and Open Arms of Minnesota all spoke at the meeting while guests enjoyed lunch. Theresa Fetsch represented Red Ribbon Ride and spoke about AIDS fundraising and the education they provide to the public about AIDS. Each year they do a 300 mile bike ride that raises funds for AIDS research. Representing Make A Wish was Jean Carlson, discussing  great ideas on how local companies can get connected with the foundation, as well as different types of events they have done. A neighbor of Muse, The Soap Factory, was there to share the history of the factory, their annual haunted house, and how they raise funds. Jennifer VanWyk spoke on behalf of Open Arms of Minnesota, sharing the mission of the group with some touching stories of helping out others. She also gave us a peek into their annual gala!
